Here is an exceptionally sharp octahedral crystal of alabandite from the new find in Tanzania. In Tucson I high graded the best pieces from a lot of over 100 crystals, and this is one of the best ones. The top half of the crystal, which looks like a pyramid, features a superb octahedron that is .9" on the longest edges. This piece comes from the recent world-class find in Tanzania which has smashed all previous records for size and sharpness for alabandite.
