The prominent white lines running down the middle of the double terminated crystals on this specimen are made up of tiny air bubbles, which formed there when the crystal started growing in both directions simultaneously, pulling the quartz apart and forming tiny air bubbles. The crystals in this large cluster are very sharp and sharply terminated, and are joined in a highly sculptural 3-dimensional shape.
