My friends from the Congo import fine malachite from this country, which is a prolific source of copper minerals.  I saw them recently, and this was the best of a new shipment they had just received.  The malachite, which completely covers the display face of this specimen, is a deep, dark, full-bodied green color, dusted with tiny sparkling malachite crystals coating all the surfaces, which sparkle in the light.  It has grown in a bubble-like botryoidal formation that is typical of this mineral. The coverage is 100%, and the piece is highly aesthetic and sculptural.
