Here is a large chunk of milky quartz which features long, thick crystals of watermelon tourmaline penetrating through the quartz matrix. The crystals are green on the outside and pink on the inside, which is why they are called "watermelon". Though the crystals are not complete and terminated, they are still colorful and lustrous, and stand out nicely against the snowy whiteness of the quartz. The base has been sawn flat so the piece stands on its own.
