Here is a specimen of pseudo-octahedral green crystals of libethenite up to 1 mm. The crystal heavily cover the surface of a feldspar matrix from this open-pit copper mine, which was worked from 1925 to 1986. Under magnification, the sparkling crystals are gemmy, sharp and lustrous. No damage on this good example of this copper phosphate mineral from an old, long-closed European locality.
