Here is an exceptional matrix specimen of brookite, on a matrix of quartz crystals embedded with green chlorite. The Brookite crystal is a full 1" tall, very large for the species, and it is complete with a textbook inverted V-shaped termination. The bladed brookite crystal is a splendid dark red-gold color, with a brightly reflective metallic luster. Matrix specimens of brookite are uncommon, and this piece has a very large crystal for the species and locality.
