Turgite is an iridescent mixture of hematite and goethite, which formed due to the alteration of goethite, and usually grows coating quartz.  It has a botryoidal habit which came from the "parent" goethite. The coating on this specimen is thin enough that you can easily make out the big quartz crystals under the surface.  It is mainly brown, but has some faint iridescence.
