This is a very rare bastnaesite-Ce crystal from Pakistan – a mineral you almost never see in good crystals.  The crystal is prismatic, and slightly flattened, with a sharply formed, textbook, chisel-shaped termination. The color is an appealing milk chocolate brown, and the faces are somewhat lustrous. The edges are all sharp.  The crystal weighs 73.5 carats, and is undamaged.  Bastnäsite-(Ce) has the chemical formula of (Ce, La)CO3F.
