Here is a very choice specimen of the rare copper silicate mineral SHATTUCKITE. It is colored a bright shade of bluish turquoise, and the lustrous crystals are formed in radiating fibrous acicular botryoidal hemispheres. Shattuckite is very rare in crystal form, and this is a good representative example of this rare mineral from the recent finds at the Okenwasi Mine, Kaokaveld Plateau, Kunene Region, Namibia. I found this specimen at the Tucson Gem Rock and Mineral Show this year in the warehouse of a wholesale dealer who had just received a new shipment from this find.
