Blue ball fluorite from China was a big hit in Tucson a few years ago, and this specimen is an unusually fine example. The color is a rich blue with a hint of violet. The specimen consists of a large single ball, like a soap bubble.  The tops are pebbled with crystal overgrowths. The piece is translucent when strongly backlit.  The sides show a cross section of the ball.
